Introductions
This blog is entitled "Peter's Mental Notes" because this is what it will contain.
My mental notes about the mental health of children and youth, knowledge exchange, population health, community mobilization, and an assortment of associated topics. It is also a play on words I could not resist - punny. (I know it is the lowest form of humour, but good mental health includes being able to laugh at yourself.)
The entries are informal, candid, and perhaps, useful.
These entries are
not the official policy or or plans of the
Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at the
Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. I do however, have the blessing and the encouragement of my colleagues - including those who sign my paycheques. (Thanks Ian, Simon, Karen)
Blogs are on-line diaries - this is my diary of my PhD journey in Population Health. I hope you enjoy the trip. I promise to stop at all the best diners and will let you get a word in as we look at the view.
Cheers,
Peter

This was posted earlier this year:
In September 2005, I began the three or four year process of obtaining a doctorate in
Population Health from the University of Ottawa.
My supervisor is
Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw.
Since my work is sponsored by the
Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, my research is focused on knowledge exchange in the mental health system in Ontario.
